Confessions of an Infovore
I'm an infovore (a term that I think was coined by infovore grand poobah Tyler Cowan). An infovore is someone who consumes huge amounts of information on a regular basis (Tyler's blog MarginalRevolution.com is one of my many stops on the infobahn.)
For breakfast I'll feast on social newstream/bookmarking services Delicious.com, Pinboard.in, Affbuzz. Then I read the Bible (the Book of Job is my favorite).
Lunch usually consists of Hacker News and several Google Reader RSS accounts. Mid afternoon I'll listen to the latest podcast installments of Econtalk (with the amicable Russ Roberts), The Kunstlercast, Tech Zing Live, and if my metabolism is running hot, the Engadget podcast (although they can be kind of lame sometimes re. ).
Doing automated-type stuff at the computer allows me to watch Fora.tv and This Week In Mobile.
Before bed I'll read hundreds of RSS feeds on my My6Sense iPhone app and study my Spanish (which I also listen to and from the gym).
This is an abbreviated list, as there are many other sites that I visit on a quasi-regular basis (Slashdot being most notable).
And yes, it can get in the way of being sociable.
